Gratitude And Memory

Written by on July 22, 2023

Our well-being is closely linked to what we pay attention to.

If we pay more attention to negative things those are the experiences that will be stored in our memory.

It is therefore important to store positive memories.

It doesn't mean that you don't pay attention to bad experiences.

But we don't need them to dominate our lives.

Expressing our gratitude is a way of creating good memories and setting up new connections in our neurological system.

Repetition brings consistency. The frequent practice of small, intentional exercises, strengthens the setting up of new thinking habits and different targets of our attention.

I leave you another *TIP* from one of the exercises in my POSITIVE LIFE programme:

***Every morning when you wake up think of three situations for which you feel grateful 🙏

***You may feel grateful for breathing - take a deep breath and feel that gratitude. You can even be grateful for being alive 🙏

***You may feel grateful for someone who is part of your life - take a deep breath and feel gratitude for that person. You can even thank this person for being in your life 🙏

***You may feel grateful for something you have (house, bed...) - take a deep breath and feel gratitude for this object. You can even be thankful for being able to enjoy it 🙏

***Anything that pops into your mind that you are grateful for, even if it seems small to you, is valid. Take a deep breath and feel gratitude for what has come your way!

Be persistent! You will see that with practice you will start to pay more attention to the positive things that surround you 😍 and you will store them as good memories.

You'll find a new starting point for your day!

I am grateful for your time 🙏

Have a day filled with moments of gratitude ❤️
